Gardini Notes gave an excellent score to a wine from the well-known Piedmontese winery.

In recent weeks the prestigious Marchesi di Barolo winery has achieved an excellent result for one of its wines: Gardini Notes awarded Barolo Sarmassa 2017 with 95 points.
Barolo Sarmassa is a red wine with an intense aroma with a clear hint of red, vanilla and licorice. It has a full and elegant taste, with tannins in evidence. This wine was born in the Sarmassa area, whose soil is predominantly calcareous-clayey very compact and has a truly remarkable percentage of skeleton (stones). The high presence of stones, associated with clay, limits the vegetation of the Nebbiolo grape and predisposes the vines to be promptly affected by climatic variations, favoring the perfect ripening of the bunches. Barolo Sarmassa reaches maturity 8 years after the harvest and the ripening plateau is between 8 and 30 years. The wine is therefore very structured, colorful, tannic and long-lived.
