A wine from the Lucanian winery has been awarded by Decanter.
Recently Cantine del Notaio, a renowned winery in Basilicata, received an excellent score for one of its wines: Decanter awarded a silver medal to La Firma 2015.
La Firma of Cantine del Notaio represents the personality of Aglianico del Vulture to the fullest. It is a wine that initially strikes for its power and then reveals its complex and elegant soul. This wine is produced with Aglianico grapes, harvested manually in early November to allow the tannin to mature sufficiently, smoothing out its accentuated varietal hardness. Aging takes place in natural volcanic tuff caves for 12 months inside French oak tonneau; and then continue for another 12 months in the bottle.
La Firma has a ruby red color; on the nose there are aromas of black fruit and berries, flanked by pungent notes of aromatic herbs that give an intriguing character to the bouquet. On the palate it has a full, enveloping and pleasantly fresh taste.
