The Sardinian winery achieved an excellent result at Concorso Nazionale del Vermentino.
Recently the Sardinian winery Sa Raja achieved a truly important result: at Concorso Nazionale del Vermentino 2021, the 2020 vintage of Vermentino di Gallura Superiore Docg received the great gold medal.
Vermentino di Gallura Superiore is a fresh, savory and fragrant white, which perfectly interprets the sunny and windy character of northern Sardinia. Among the ancient granite rocks of Gallura, modeled over the millennia by the Mistral, Vermentino has found an ideal land where it can express itself on excellent levels.
This wine is born near Monte Limbara, about 500 meters above sea level. The best bunches are selected in the vineyard during the harvest, then softly pressed and the must is fermented in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 16-18° C. Before bottling, the wine rests on the lees in steel tanks for at least 6 months.
Vermentino di Gallura has a bright yellow color and a fresh and fruity bouquet, with aromas of citrus peel and aromatic herbs from the Mediterranean scrub. On the palate it is soft and harmonious, with a clear savory vein that leads to a persistent finish with great gustatory balance.
