The Salento winery has received an excellent recognition for one of its wines.
In the latest edition of the Berliner Wein Trophy 2021, the Salento winery Mottura received, in addition to two gold medals, another important recognition: the great gold medal for Le Pitre Primitivo di Manduria Doc 2018.
Le Pitre Primitivo di Manduria is a wine of great complexity and solid and full-bodied structure. This is a wine that comes from grapes grown in the province of Taranto. The harvest is done manually, at the right ripeness after a careful selection of the grapes. Then we proceed with the fermentation at a controlled temperature and with the traditional maceration for about 25 days. The vinification of this Primitivo di Manduria involves delestage and pumping over.
It is a red wine that on the nose is intense, sweet and with hints of red fruits in jam, blackberry and sour cherry which give the wine a strong identity. Spicy tones of black pepper and cocoa. In the mouth the tannins are soft and go in the direction of sweetness and harmony. The varietal notes dominate and overall prepare for a long finish of great persistence.
